Catch the Moment 365 ~ Week 7

This week has been rather slow around the house. Between the muddy mess the snow melt left and spending long hours at school, I haven't had a lot of motivation. These are not the greatest of pictures, but they are going to have to work!

February 14, 2014:  A drink of hot chocolate after playing outside.

Febrary 15, 2014:  Bubble bath fun!

February 16, 2014:  Taking our 'baby' for a stroll through the neighborhood.

February 17, 2014:  I know as soon as she gets her first hair cut these adorable curls will be gone. Gotta love them while she still has them!

February 18, 2014:  The mailman delivered a special package to Tyler and Bailey from their Great-Grandma!

February 19, 2014:  A favorite snack, popcorn!

February 20, 2014:  Babies coming home outfits have arrived, bring on the little one!

Catch the Moment 365~Week 6

Last week I said my goal was to snag more pictures of my son who has been refusing to let me get a good shot of him, and I succeeded! Thank to an unexpected closure of daycare which led to Bailey spending the weekend 2 hours away at Grandma's house, and a super sized snowstorm I have plenty to share!

February 7, 2014:  Night number 1 without little sister. I love how the glow from his Kindle lights up his face.

February 8, 2014:  With Bailey gone to Grandma's house and Tyler forced to stay home with me, I figured a mother/son date would ease his emotions a little. We went to The Lego Movie where they gave him this little figure, which caused a ton of drama throughout the day!

February 9, 2014:  Someone is looking super handsome with his new haircut!

February 10, 2014:  I had a late training which meant both kids were in bed by the time I got home. I snuck into Tyler's room and got this picture of him sleeping. Amazing how young they look when they sleep! He's not very thrilled with my taking a picture of him sucking his thumb, but I think it's adorable!

February 11, 2014:  Day 1 of snOMG! School let out 2 hours early which gave us plenty of time to get out and enjoy the snow! Even though we only had about an inch of snow, it was plenty to keep this little one happy.

February 12, 2014:  Day 2 of snOMG! Charlotte North Carolina was hit by a huge storm today and received several inches in just a few hours!!

February 13, 2014:  Day 3 of snOMG! I forced them together for just a moment, and I truly mean forced. HA!

The snow has provided a nice break for what was beginning to be a photography rut. I can't wait for Tyler's t-ball season to begin which will offer up many more opportunities!

Catch the Moment 365 ~ Week 5

I can't believe I've made it 5 successful weeks with this project! Here's hoping I can keep it up for the rest of the year. As always, all pictures were taken with my Canon T3 and a kit lens.

January 31, 2014:  Little Miss went to work with Daddy today. He took pictures of her on his bulldozer (shhh!!) and this was her reaction to looking at the pictures on his phone!

February 1, 2014:  Tyler has been in a don't take my picture mood this week, I made him pose for this one!

February 2, 2014:  Hanging out outside on a beautiful day with our Aunt Sandy and Uncle Bill who came to visit from Michigan! I love the color in this one!

February 3, 2014:  A day late, but working on a Groundhog's Day project.

February 4, 2014:  Mommy's little helper, cleaning off the table after dinner! I wonder how long this phase will last...?

February 5, 2014:  Doing her 'homework' just like big brother!

February 6, 2014:  Starting on boy blanket number 2 for baby Stickney 3.0.

It is getting increasingly difficult to get a picture of the little man. He either won't get out of his PJ's on the weekend, or is stuck doing homework all evening when we come home from school. Next week, my goal is to make sure I get a few extra pictures of him!

Craft-Along-Monday!

It seems like it's been forever since I've gotten around to a craft blog! I've missed completing these activities with my kiddos and must get back into it!

I competed a very simple craft/activity for Groundhog's Day at school today with my Kindergartners. They had so much fun with it that I thought I would have my kids do it too! I printed the template from this website and followed their super easy instructions!

Materials:
Template
Toilet paper roll
Crayons
Scissors
Glue Stick
Popsicle Stick
Tape

The kids colored the groundhog and the grass, cut them out, glued the grass to the tissue tube, taped the groundhog to the popsicle stick and done! Easy, simple, and fun!

This weekend I'd love to get some sort of Valentine's Day craft done with them, but we'll see!
